RTI Awareness Workshop conducted for Students and Professionals

An RTI Awareness workshop was conducted for students and professionals on Saturday March 17 from 10 am to 1.00 pm by the Hope India Foundation, Chennai at the MBA Auditorium, Anna University, under the project "Jana Athikar" (Peoples' Rights).

The Programme was inaugurated by Mr. G. Ramakrishnan, IAS (Retd.), Information Commissioner, Tamil Nadu Information Commission.

On this occassion, the book, "Gender & Governance - Reviewing the Women's Agenda in The National Common Minimum Programme" brought out by Wada Na Todo Abhiyan, New Delhi was released to the RTI Activists.

The workshop was conducted by Mr. Kris Dev, an ICT & e-Governance Consultant and RTI & NREGA Implementation Activist, Chennai (Ph: 98 408 52132).

About 50 students and professionals attend the workshop, actively participated in the discussions and raised important issues of public concern and sought clarifications.

About 25 students and professionals volunteered to support the RTI Movement and other social and welfare activities of Hope India Foundation, by involving themselves in conducting workshops in colleges and schools, to educate the youth of India and also visit rural areas for social audit.

Hope India Foundation bestowed the "Greatest Hero Award" on Mr. Kris Dev, RTI Activist, with the following citation:

Greatest Hero Award

When someone is in trouble you are there to help; you always care for others before yourself and you never turn your back to a person in need.

This special nature of yours makes you a true hero.

You 're worth your weight in gold!!"


On accepting the award, Mr. Kris Dev offered to extend support to the Hope India Foundation to enhance its service level to communities and society.
